EdukSine USA Launches at the Philippine Film Trade Fair, Honoring Filipino Cinema and Cultural Pride

San Diego, California – October 5, 2024 — EdukSine USA has officially launched, marking a significant moment in the global celebration of Filipino cinema. The launch took place at the Philippine Film Trade Fair in Liberty Station Convention Center, San Diego, California, and was made possible through the Malikhaing Pinoy Program by DTI Philippines, PTIC Silicon Valley, PTIC Los Angeles, and San Diego Filipino Cinema. This event introduces EdukSine’s unique approach to film distribution and cultural promotion to a broader international audience.

A Tribute to Family and a Journey of Hope

The launch of EdukSine USA is a deeply personal tribute to CEO and founder Ms. Karen Jane Salutan-Krukover’s parents, both of whom are now in heaven. “They were my first ticket sellers and the ones who truly believed in me,” Karen shared. “This moment is for them.”

EdukSine is the culmination of Karen’s education in IT, Business, and Film. It is also a reflection of her incredible journey from being a working student—striving for an education despite her family’s financial challenges—to becoming the founder of a groundbreaking platform that gives hope and opportunities to others.

Proof of Victory in the Face of Adversity
EdukSine stands as a testament to Karen’s resilience and strength. Despite experiencing loss, depression, and betrayal, she has continued to lead and emerge victorious. “EdukSine is proof of my victory. I’ve faced darkness, but I’ve found light, meaning, and purpose in serving others,” she said. “This platform represents not just my dreams, but also the dreams of countless independent filmmakers who deserve to be heard.”

A Global Mission: Bridging Cultures Through Film

EdukSine is revolutionizing the way Filipino films reach global audiences by offering both online and in-person hybrid block screenings, incorporating Filipino Sign Language to promote inclusivity, and providing opportunities for independent filmmakers to showcase their work on an international stage. With the launch of EdukSine USA, Karen and her team aim to bring these stories to new communities, strengthening cultural ties and shining a spotlight on the rich heritage of Filipino cinema.
