New Home, Same Dreams: EdukSine USA Officially Launches

EdukSine connects more people to the Philippine Independent Cinema by establishing its USA counterpart last October 5, 2024, at the Philippine Film Trade Fair in Liberty Station Convention Center, San Diego, California.

CEO and Founder Karen Jane Sulutan-Krukover presented the startup company’s mission, vision, achievements, and plans to create original works. She shared the organization’s journey from its humble beginnings to its current status, and how pivotal it is to connect Filipino communities to its culture as it continues to prosper and improve.

As an immigrant, Sulutan-Krukover shares how challenging it is for Filipinos like her to be far away from home despite the support system she has. This created the idea to bring a familiar space to where she currently is and provide that same comfort to other Filipinos while introducing the Filipino culture to a more diverse audience.

Finally, Sulutan-Krukover expounds that resilience amidst the darkest times must be one’s hope and strength to keep moving forward in order to create more possibilities and avenues for Filipino culture and talent to thrive, no matter where it takes them.

EdukSine extends its heartfelt thanks to its organizational members, Sir Benito Salvador Bautista, Ms. Emma Francisco Bautista, Sir Eric Elnar, Ms. May Niña, Ms. Celynne Layug, and Ms. April Abarrondo, and their whole team for their unwavering support on EdukSine USA’s launching.

EdukSine’s CEO looks forward to another successful event as she heads to Los Angeles, California to introduce the startup’s new project.
